DRAWING CLASSES

LEVEL I-This basic drawing course teaches all you need to know to be able to draw anything you want:textures, shading, creating 3 dimensional form, perspective, composition, colour theory, basic colour pencil technique, positive/negative shapes and studies of hands, facial features etc. It is given for both the enjoyment of drawing and as a solid foundation and mustfor those who wish to improve their painting skills.

LEVEL II This is an exciting continuation of LEVEL I where every element is explored even furthur, with emphasis on composition and perspective and portraiture.

WATERCOLOUR

LEVEL I -A class designed for the beginner, where basic washes, special effects, colour theory, skies and some composition are explored, while working from exercises to produce several paintings.

LEVEL II -Here you will complete several paintings including a Dutch windmill, a summer storm,a Scottish lighthouse a study of trees in four seasons and an Ottawa Valley afternoon in January.

LEVEL III -An exciting class where you complete several paintings including an Ottawa valley fall scene, a still life including compositional studies, a study of people and animals to be added to paintings to add perspective to your works.

LEVEL IV-Botanical Beauties-Paint lillies, an Iris, tulips and more.

LEVEL V -Learn about 17th Century Dutch Still life and create amazing still life whilst learning how to paint silver and its reflections.

STUDIO TIME - Designed for students with some experience or who have completed the above classes,where you can paint or draw your own works or suggested works with some instruction and help in a studio environment or assistance with Portfolio building.

All classes are limited to 8 students and allow for individuals to study at their own speed.

FAQ

All classes including Studio time cost $300.00 per 10 week (20 hours) session except the Summer I week workshops which cost $350 per week.

Students are responsible for their own supplies. A simple supply list will be available for new students

A $20 deposit is required to hold your place in any of the classes. Registration is on going and there is a maximum of 6 students per class.

Should you miss a class, you are welcome to make it up in any of the other class times. (within 6 months)

The classes are held at my studio in Kanata, near the Centrum.

The calming music, herbal teas and the laughter are included in each class.

Workshops offered 2011-

Perspective Workshop -6 1/2 hours, including the option of the film-"Masters of Illusion"

Composition Workshop-6 hours, including a 'Compositional Clinic', where students can also bring in a painting or two for compositional direction or help.

Watercolour 101 -6 hours for the absolute beginner, starting with washes, superimposing of colour, special effects and ending with a painting of a pastoral summer landscape.
